All summer, we have been in Phase I of the planning and startup of the Okanagan International Festival of Animation (OkIFA) – and it has been busy! In a nutshell, we have appointed our exceptional board of directors; developed our amazing brand and logo; designed, produced and launched our fantastic website; planned and began our initial publicity and social media campaigns; connected with fabulous sponsors; engaged with industry associations and groups and with local, provincial and national government; and we have raised the flag on this exciting festival at every opportunity.
As we shift into fall, though it is hard to believe as the Okanagan has long summers and it is still shorts wearing season, we will keep moving forward and preparing for our October 2017 launch. We are starting to book speakers, screening panoramas, panels, and well, interesting stuff always in search of that special something that will inspire, engage and just wow you. Due to which we are still open for more sponsors – so if your organization or someone you know might want to be a part of our exciting, world-class animation and digital media event, please check out our sponsorship page or connect with Executive Director Anne Denman.
We are in the midst of planning several of the Festival’s launch events, working out details of the student signal competition, and developing the flow of screenings. We are also neck-deep in the planning and in deciding how best we can showcase this beautiful part of the world to all of the people who will attend OkIFA.
We will keep you updated via our blog, Facebook, Twitter and our e-newsletter (sign up at the bottom of any page on our website) on our progress. We will have lots of exciting news to share with you going forward.
